In our first collaboration with Cara Connoly, she gave us a song about getting in touch with a bygone era of Hollywood; living in and eventually moving away from Beachwood Canyon, but taking a piece of it with you when you go. Resonating with nostalgia, we tried to capture visual references of classic Hollywood in present-day as Kara moved through the space, leaning into the LA vibes of Beachwood Canyon; palm trees and eclectic homes, the overgrown staircases, the exotic flora of Southern California.
Thematically, we wanted this video to feel like a ride down a mountain. It starts high up on the hill beneath the Hollywood sign, and we follow Cara as she slowly drifts/walks/bikes/wanders downhill throughout the song until she ends up in the grid: surrounded by the craziness of real-life Los Angeles.
